The Bearding Way—Tip I.

If you’ve read my website’s Bio or have met me in person then you know I am not just an attorney, I am a beard lover. I believe in a relaxed and comfortable office so there are no fancy suits here, just fancy beards. That is as much of a disclaimer as you are going to get for the silliness of my beard tips, so let’s get started.

One thing I hear all the time is “I’d love to grow a beard but mine itches too much.” In the first few weeks (or month), until it achieves any real length, it is normal for a beard to itch. Once it has grown out, the itching will naturally stop. This awkward “beginners beard” can be difficult unless you start nourishing your beard early.

But why does it itch? There are 3 main reasons:

  • Your face needs to be moisturized
  • Your new beard is trapping dead dry skin close to your face and causing irritation
  • Those short baby beard hairs are cut at an angle and are sharp and irritating

Nourish your beard to end your woes. To have a proper beard, you need to use beard oil. The important thing to remember is that it is never too early to start with a beard oil. A good oil will moisturize your skin, get rid of the irritation, and soften those hairs. Not only that but it will provide your beard with a nice clean scent. Beard oil comes in all sizes and scents, so your new quest is to find which one matches your style.
