VALDOSTA BANKRUPTCY: QUESTION OF THE DAY

Answers

How much are Chapter 13 attorney’s fees?

The administrative order on attorney’s fees in Chapter 13 for this District states that the agreed fee shall not exceed $3250.00. Because most Chapter 13 plans are for 5 years, this is what you can expect to pay your attorney over that 5-year period. Usually this fee is included in the monthly plan payment you make to your Chapter 13 Trustee and she then disburses the money to your attorney. Note that this does not include the filing fee. For 5 years of work, this is a great discount considering most attorneys’ hourly rates. Because the fee will usually be the same everywhere in this District, be sure you pick the local attorney that you like the best.
